The Atomos Shogun Inferno is a professional legacy monitor-recorder built for production, playback and on-set monitoring workflows. Based on the official Atomos support material still available, it supports synchronised playback via genlock, analogue audio connectivity through an XLR breakout connection, 3D LUT loading in standard .CUBE format, and compatibility with Atomos’ supported SSD and CFast media workflows.

For productions needing playback synchronisation, the Shogun Inferno can accept a standard composite reference signal such as black burst bi-level or tri-level sync through its genlock connection. Atomos also confirms that the Shogun Inferno is supported by its display calibration workflow for legacy products, helping maintain monitoring consistency over time.

On the audio side, Atomos states that the Shogun Inferno series has a breakout connection for both XLR input and XLR output. The XLR input can be assigned as line level, mic level or pro level depending on source requirements, giving it flexibility for a range of production sound setups.

For monitoring workflows, Atomos confirms that the Shogun/Assassin/Flame/Inferno series supports 3D LUTs in .CUBE format and provides eight LUT memory slots. Atomos also lists the Shogun Inferno in its current compatible-drive tool, where supported media includes standard SATA SSDs used in Master Caddy II or III, with CFast 2.0 support available via the AtomX CFast Adapter.
