The Aputure Storm 1200x is a high-output bi-colour LED point source designed for professional film, television and broadcast production.
With a power draw of approximately 1200W, the Storm 1200x delivers serious output across a broad CCT range of around 2,500K to 10,000K, alongside full green-magenta adjustment. This makes it highly adaptable in mixed lighting conditions, reducing the need for bulb swaps or correction gels while allowing fast and accurate colour matching on set.
When used with its reflector, the 1200x comfortably enters the performance range traditionally associated with larger HMI fixtures, while retaining the key benefits of LED technology: instant strike, precise dimming and reduced power requirements compared with discharge-based units.
The fixture offers stepless dimming from 0.1% to 100%, with stable colour performance maintained throughout the dimming range. This makes it especially well suited to drama production, studio environments, broadcast setups and any application where accurate, repeatable exposure control is required.
Its ProLock Bowens mount provides a secure and versatile platform for a wide range of modifiers, including reflectors, Fresnels, softboxes and spacelight attachments. This allows the Storm 1200x to operate effectively as a hard key, a daylight punch source, a unit for pushing through diffusion or a large soft source depending on the needs of the shoot.
Rated to IP65, the Storm 1200x is suitable for exterior filming and event work where weather protection is essential. Control options include onboard controls, wired DMX/RDM, Sidus Link, CRMX, Art-Net and sACN, making it easy to integrate into app-based workflows, lighting desks and networked control systems.
The unit is supplied as a production-ready package including lamp head, control box, cables and standard reflector, all housed in a portable rolling case.
