The Sony NP-FZ100 is a high-capacity Z-series rechargeable lithium-ion battery designed for compatible Sony Alpha and FX camera systems.
It is commonly used with cameras such as Sony Alpha mirrorless bodies and compact FX cinema cameras that support the NP-FZ100 battery format. Its higher capacity makes it useful for longer shooting days, video recording, interviews, events, documentary work and location setups where multiple battery swaps may be needed.
The battery supports Sony’s InfoLITHIUM system, allowing compatible cameras to display remaining battery information. Sony lists the NP-FZ100 with a capacity of 7.2V / 16.4Wh / 2280mAh, making it a practical spare battery option for productions using Sony camera bodies.
Best suited for compatible Sony Alpha and FX cameras, lightweight video setups, handheld work, gimbal work and general location production. Runtime will vary depending on the camera model, recording format, screen usage, temperature, battery age and overall power draw.
