RODE VideoMic Pro+

The RODE VideoMic Pro+ is a premium on-camera microphone designed for filmmakers, videographers, content creators and run-and-gun production work where improved camera audio is needed in a compact setup.

With its supercardioid directional pattern and extended 20Hz–20kHz frequency range, the VideoMic Pro+ is built to capture focused audio from the front while reducing unwanted sound from the sides and rear. This makes it useful for interviews, events, documentary coverage, behind-the-scenes filming, social content and lightweight camera-mounted production audio.

The microphone includes useful on-camera recording tools such as high-pass filtering, high-frequency boost, audio level adjustment and a safety channel option on the right channel. These features help manage low-frequency rumble, improve clarity and provide a lower-level backup track when recording unpredictable sound sources.

Power is flexible, with support for the included RODE LB-1 rechargeable lithium-ion battery, two AA batteries or power via the Micro USB port. RODE lists LB-1 battery life as over 100 hours of continuous use, making it practical for long shoot days and location work.

For camera use, the VideoMic Pro+ features an integrated Rycote Lyre shock mount to reduce handling noise, an optimised windshield shape for wind noise reduction, and a dual mono unbalanced output on a stereo 3.5mm jack.
