DJI RS 3 Pro Gimbal
The DJI RS 3 Pro is a professional 3-axis camera gimbal for heavier mirrorless and compact cinema camera setups, offering a 4.5kg tested payload, automated axis locks, carbon fibre arms, Bluetooth shutter control and up to 12 hours of runtime.
The DJI RS 3 Pro is a professional single-handed 3-axis gimbal stabiliser designed for larger mirrorless and compact cinema camera setups, making it well suited to film production, commercial video, music videos, documentary work and higher-end handheld operating.
With a tested payload of 4.5kg, the RS 3 Pro can support heavier camera and lens combinations than the regular RS 3, while remaining compact enough for solo operators and small crews. DJI lists the gimbal at approximately 1.5kg when including the gimbal, battery grip and dual-layered quick-release plates.
The gimbal features automated axis locks, allowing the three axes to unlock and expand when powering on, then lock again when powering down or entering sleep mode. This makes setup, transport and moving between shooting positions faster than working with fully manual lock systems.
For camera control, the RS 3 Pro supports Bluetooth shutter control with compatible cameras, allowing autofocus, start/stop recording and photo triggering. It also includes a physical gimbal mode switch for quick switching between Pan Follow, Pan and Tilt Follow and FPV modes.
The RS 3 Pro is built around DJI’s third-generation RS stabilisation algorithm and supports more advanced workflows including LiDAR focusing and O3 Pro video transmission when used with compatible DJI accessories. This makes it a strong choice for productions that need a more expandable stabilisation platform than a basic mirrorless gimbal.
