Champion 3.5kW Generator
The Champion CPG4000DHY-UK is a 3600W petrol digital hybrid inverter generator for temporary film production power, offering clean low-THD output, remote start, economy mode and portable open-frame construction for small location lighting, charging and video village setups.
Generator hire is supplied for competent film, production, event and temporary power use only. The hirer is responsible for ensuring that the generator is suitable for their intended use, that the total electrical load does not exceed the rated output of the generator, and that all equipment connected to it is used safely and appropriately. Please read the important information below for further safety disclaimers.

The Champion CPG4000DHY-UK is a petrol-powered digital hybrid inverter generator suited to temporary location power for film, video, event and small production setups.
With 3600W maximum output and 3500W rated running output, it can support modest production power requirements such as LED lighting, battery charging, monitors, laptops, small video village setups and other compatible 240V equipment. Champion specifies clean power at under 3% THD, making it more suitable for sensitive electronics than a basic non-inverter generator.
For location work, the CPG4000DHY-UK combines the robustness of an open-frame generator with inverter-based power output. The generator includes economy mode, low-oil shutoff, overload protection, Volt Guard, cold start technology and automatic speed control based on load.
The unit is powered by a 224cc Champion petrol engine and has an 11L fuel tank. Champion lists runtime as up to 14 hours at 25% load, with fuel consumption rising according to load. The generator also includes a wheel kit and foldaway handle, helping with movement around a location or unit base.
For film production hire, this generator is best treated as a temporary small-location power source rather than a full commercial towable generator package. It is suitable for carefully planned low-to-mid power setups, but productions should still consider load calculations, cable runs, RCD protection, safe siting, ventilation, noise distance, refuelling procedure and weather protection before use.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION – Please Contact for Further Questions
Petrol/diesel generators must only be operated outdoors in a well-ventilated area. They must never be used indoors, inside vehicles, garages, warehouses, tents, marquees, corridors, basements, partially enclosed areas, or close to doors, windows, vents or air intakes. Generators produce carbon monoxide, which is colourless, odourless and potentially fatal.
The hirer is responsible for the safe positioning, operation, supervision and protection of the generator throughout the hire period, including safe cable routing, weather protection, prevention of unauthorised access, noise considerations, refuelling safety, and compliance with any site-specific rules, permits, risk assessments or production health and safety requirements.
The generator must not be connected to fixed wiring, buildings, consumer units, distribution boards, domestic backup systems or any mains electrical installation unless this is planned, installed and approved by a competent electrician or temporary power specialist. The generator must not be modified, overloaded, bypassed, used with damaged cables, or operated contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Fuel is not supplied with this rental. Where the hirer supplies or handles fuel, they are responsible for lawful transport, storage and refuelling. Refuelling must only take place when the generator is switched off, cooled down, away from ignition sources, and in accordance with safe fuel-handling practice.
All generator hires are subject to approval. We reserve the right to refuse hire where the intended use, location, load requirements, access, weather conditions, ventilation arrangements or operator competence appear unsuitable or unsafe.
